  • Storage Conditions: Store in cool, dry place below 27°C

Step 1: Surface Preparation (CRITICAL for stone applications)

  • Ensure stone surfaces are completely clean, dry, and free from dust, dirt, oil, grease, wax, sealers, and loose particles
  • For porous stones (marble, limestone, travertine), ensure surfaces are sufficiently dry – moisture can cause adhesion failure
  • Remove any previous sealants or coatings
  • IMPORTANT: Do NOT use oily or solvent-based cleaners that may contaminate the stone
  • Use only water or approved stone cleaners, then allow to dry completely

Step 2: Pre-Application Testing (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

  • Always conduct a small test application on an inconspicuous area of the actual stone
  • Check for staining, discoloration, or adhesion issues after 24-48 hours
  • Test is especially important for porous or light-colored stones
  • Verify compatibility with any stone sealers or treatments

Step 3: Joint Design

  • Use appropriate backer rod or bond breaker tape for joints deeper than 12mm
  • Recommended joint width-to-depth ratio: 2:1 for optimal performance
  • Ensure three-sided adhesion is avoided to prevent joint failure
  • For stone-to-stone joints, maintain consistent joint width

Step 4: Application

  • Cut the cartridge nozzle at a 45° angle to desired bead size
  • Load cartridge into a standard caulking gun
  • Apply sealant evenly and continuously into the joint
  • Ensure complete joint filling without air pockets or gaps
  • Work in small sections to maintain quality

Step 5: Tooling & Finishing

  • Tool the sealant surface within 10-15 minutes of application before skin formation
  • Use a spatula or smoothing tool moistened with soapy water (DO NOT use solvents)
  • Immediately clean any excess sealant from stone surfaces before it cures
  • Remove masking tape immediately after tooling

Step 6: Curing & Protection

  • Allow adequate curing time: typically 7-21 days for full cure depending on joint depth and conditions
  • Protect joints from rain, moisture, and contamination during initial 24-48 hours
  • Avoid stress, traffic, or movement during cure period
  • Keep work area clean to prevent contamination of stone

Tips

Size Selection Guide:

  • 590ml: Best for large stone projects, commercial installations, professional contractors
  • 300ml: Ideal for small residential projects, repairs, maintenance work, DIY applications

CRITICAL – Stone-Specific Guidelines:

Pre-Installation:

  • ALWAYS test on actual stone samples first – different stone types react differently
  • For white marble, Carrara, and other light-colored porous stones, testing is MANDATORY
  • Consult stone supplier about any pre-applied sealers or treatments
  • Check moisture content of stone before application (especially important for natural stone)

Stone Types – Special Considerations:

  • Marble & Limestone (porous): Extra care needed, must be completely dry, test for staining
  • Granite (dense): Generally good adhesion, minimal staining risk
  • Travertine (very porous): May require special surface preparation
  • Sandstone (porous): Test thoroughly, may show darker appearance around joints
  • Polished surfaces: Clean thoroughly to remove polishing compounds
  • Honed/Flamed surfaces: May absorb sealant differently than polished

For Best Results:

  • Clean excess sealant from stone IMMEDIATELY before it skins over
  • Use masking tape to protect stone surfaces and ensure clean lines
  • Work in moderate temperatures (15-25°C ideal) for best flow and cure
  • Avoid application in direct sunlight on dark stone (surface too hot)
  • For large projects, maintain consistent application technique across all joints

Color Matching:

  • Clear/Transparent: Best for translucent stones, colored glass
  • White: For white marble, limestone, light-colored stones
  • Stone Gray: For gray granite, concrete, metal panels
  • Beige: For beige marble, travertine, sandstone
  • Custom colors available for large projects (consult factory)

Swift Series Value Proposition:

  • Professional-grade stone sealant at competitive pricing
  • Same non-staining performance as premium brands
  • Ideal for contractors seeking quality without premium pricing
  • Excellent for large-scale stone projects where cost efficiency matters

Quality Assurance:

  • Inspect all joints for complete fill and proper tooling
  • Check for any sealant residue on stone surfaces – clean immediately
  • Monitor first few installations closely for any staining issues
  • Document all testing and installation procedures

Maintenance:

  • Advise owners that silicone joints cannot be painted or stained
  • Joint color may vary slightly from stone color
  • Regular cleaning with pH-neutral cleaners is recommended
  • Inspect joints annually for any degradation or damage

Storage & Handling:

  • Store cartridges upright in cool, dry conditions
  • Rotate stock using FIFO principle
  • Once opened, use within one month for optimal performance
  • Protect from freezing and excessive heat

Environmental Considerations:

  • Ensure adequate ventilation during application and cure
  • Dispose of empty cartridges according to local regulations
  • Clean tools with mineral spirits; cured sealant removes mechanically
