Practical Adhesive Selection for Ceramic Tiling
Choosing a tile adhesive starts with the tile and the installation conditions. C99 provides a clearly defined option within the KEDA tile adhesive range, helping distributors and contractors match their enquiries to the appropriate product.
Before ordering, confirm the tile dimensions, water absorption, substrate and intended application. Product selection should not be based on tile size alone.

Review the materials and application before choosing the supplied grade.
The substrate must be sound, stable and clean. Remove dust, loose material, oil, release agents and other contamination that could interfere with adhesion. Repair unstable areas and correct significant unevenness before tiling.
Measure clean water into a clean container, then gradually add the powder while mixing mechanically. Follow the specified water ratio and resting procedure. Remix before application.
Do not restore stiffening mortar by adding extra water.
Select a notched trowel appropriate to the tile and substrate. Spread the mortar in straight, consistent ridges and coat the tile back as required.
Press and move each tile across the ridges to achieve good contact. Periodically lift a tile to check bedding. Work in manageable sections and never place tiles over adhesive that has formed a surface skin.
Remove excess mortar from tile faces and joints before it hardens.
Allow the adhesive to set sufficiently before grouting or exposing the installation to service. Site temperature, humidity and substrate conditions affect setting; do not assume a universal next-day completion time.
Share the tile material, dimensions, water absorption, substrate and installation area. Confirm the actual grade for those conditions rather than selecting from the product name alone.
No. Request a technical specification and evidence for the supplied grade. This page does not establish a C1, C2, T, E or S classification.
Follow the supplied instructions for the actual tile, substrate and site conditions. Do not copy curing times from another product.
Send KEDA the tile type, dimensions, installation location and expected order quantity. These details help us discuss the appropriate product for your distribution range or project.
