Application & Packaging

Application Areas

  • General construction gaps and voids in compatible building materials.
  • Gaps around mechanically secured frames, subject to confirmation of curing pressure and compatibility.
  • Gaps around suitable pipe and conduit penetrations where no fire-rated system is required.

Suitable Substrates

  • Sound building gaps and cavities; evaluate adjacent materials.

Usage Instructions

  • Check the application. Confirm substrate compatibility, joint size and permitted working conditions. Secure the components and mask adjacent finishes.
  • Prepare the gap. Remove dust, oil and loose material. Lightly mist surfaces only where instructed; do not leave standing water.
  • Prepare the can. Follow the label for shaking, working orientation and the correct applicator. Do not assume gun and straw fittings are interchangeable.
  • Control the fill. Start with a small trial and allow space for expansion. For deeper gaps, follow the specified layering and curing procedure. Avoid overfilling or injecting into inaccessible, sealed cavities.
  • Cure and finish. Trim only after the required cure. Protect cured foam from sunlight and weather with a compatible finish specified for the installation.

FAQ & Limitations

Can KD500 replace screws or frame anchors?

No. Foam filling does not replace the mechanical fixings required by the installation design.

Is KD500 a low-expansion window foam?

That performance has not been established here. Low expansion and low curing pressure describe different properties; confirm the appropriate product for pressure-sensitive frames.

Is a gun or straw applicator supplied?

Confirm the available valve and applicator configuration before ordering. Do not assume both options are supplied or compatible.

What yield and packaging are available?

Request confirmed supply specifications. Can capacity, net contents and cured foam yield are different quantities; this page does not assign unverified values to them.
