Application selection

Applications to Discuss

  • Bonding compatible decorative wall panels to prepared interior substrates.
  • Installing skirting boards and wall-mounted decorative trims.
  • Mounting non-structural finishing components where the materials and fixing design are suitable for adhesive bonding.

Initial Grab and Cured Strength Are Different

Initial grab describes the adhesive's early holding behaviour. It does not establish the finished assembly's safe working load or mean the adhesive has fully cured.

Required support depends on the component, its weight and shape, the available bonding area and the actual surfaces. Retain mechanical fixings where the installation design requires them.

Check Both Bonding Surfaces

A bond to paint or a decorative film relies on that layer remaining attached to its substrate. Loose paint, weak plaster and poorly bonded finishes must be addressed before installation.

Provide details of coatings, plastic films and surface treatments. Assess compatibility on representative materials; do not assume that a result on one grade of plastic, stone or painted surface applies to another.

General Application Guide

Follow the instructions supplied with the actual product and the component manufacturer's installation requirements.

  • Check the assembly. Confirm the material pair, component dimensions and weight, permitted conditions and required supports.
  • Prepare the surfaces. Remove loose material and contamination. Surfaces should be sound, clean and dry unless the selected product expressly permits otherwise. Use only approved cleaners and primers.
  • Apply the specified pattern. Follow the confirmed bead layout and bond-line thickness. Do not substitute a full-surface coating for a specified bead application.
  • Position and support. Press the component into place within the stated working time. Use suitable temporary supports and retain any required permanent fixings.
  • Allow curing before loading. Follow the verified curing requirements for the site conditions. Surface skinning alone is not evidence that the bond can carry its intended load.

Read the actual product's safety information. Provide ventilation and use the protective equipment specified for the adhesive and any surface-preparation products.

Questions before ordering

Can I install components without screws or clamps?

Not automatically. Follow the assessed fixing design and supplied instructions. High initial grab is not a blanket replacement for temporary support or permanent mechanical fixings.

How much weight can it hold?

No general load rating is assigned here. The actual materials, bond area, load direction, component geometry, curing conditions and service environment must be considered. A laboratory strength value is not, by itself, an installation load limit.

Can it replace a mirror adhesive?

Do not assume so. Mirror coatings and safety films require specific compatibility assessment and an appropriate fixing design.

Can it bond PVC panels or natural stone?

Provide the exact panel or stone specification, including surface films, coatings and treatments. Compatibility and any risk of surface changes must be assessed for the selected product and materials.

Can it be painted or used outdoors?

These properties have not been established for the proposed KEDA product. Confirm the intended paint system or exposure conditions before selecting it for that use.
